The Healing Blues

This documentary describes the making of The Healing Blues project in which homeless storytellers and musicians in Greensboro, NC collaborated to create The Healing Blues album. Social Practice artist Ted Efremoff initiated the project and partnered with musician and Greensboro College music professor Dave Fox, who produced The Healing Blues CD. The 15 songs on the CD relate the stories and struggles of the homeless population of Greensboro NC, and sales and donations raised funds for the Interactive Resource Center (a day center for the homeless). Local professional musicians donated their performances to the project. The homeless storytellers received a share of the royalties and an honorarium as cultural producers on the CD. The Healing Blues CD has received critical acclaim and has been played by DJ's around the world. A second CD - The Healing Blues Volume II came out in October of 2016.
